Arizona Medicare Plans

Residents eligible for Arizona Medicare plans also have the ability to purchase Medicare Supplements or Medicare Advantage plans.

As long as you are eligible for Original Medicare and a resident of the state, you also have the option to enroll into either of these two plans.

Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment

The best time to purchase a Medicare Supplement (also known as Medigap) plan is during your open enrollment period, as this is the only time you are guaranteed coverage.

Your open enrollment period begins when your Part B coverage starts and lasts for the first six months.

During this window, you can enroll in an Arizona Medigap plan regardless of any pre-existing health conditions.

While you can still enroll in a plan after the open enrollment period, you will be required to answer health-related questions.

Starting in 2020, new Medicare enrollees in Idaho will no longer be able to choose Medigap Plans C or F. Those who are already enrolled in these plans will be able to keep them.

Arizona Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage, also known as Part C, is a private plan that covers all the benefits of Original Medicare, along with additional perks such as dental, prescription drugs, and vision coverage.

The availability of Medicare Part C plans varies significantly across Arizona. Depending on where you live, you may have access to as few as two plans or as many as 41 options. To help you navigate the choices available in your area, contact one of our licensed Arizona Medicare Plans agents.

Medicare Part D

Although Original Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans do not cover prescription drugs, you can enroll in Medicare Part D for that coverage. Arizona offers over 20 Part D plans. If you want to avoid out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions, consider exploring Medicare Advantage or a standalone Part D plan.
